HUAWEI Mate 40 launched with new Dimensity 1000+ version

HUAWEI Mate 40 launched with Dimensity 1000+ version, but it will be sold under a different brand. Its HUAWEI Mate 40 was launched about two years ago back in October of 2020 however that hasn’t stopped HUAWEI from updating it using nothing more than an upgraded chipset (and an entirely new main camera sensor).

A new version of the device has been added to the Chinese “Tianyi Product Library” featuring the mediatek dimensity 1000+, which replaces the Kirin 9000E 5G from the previous version. This Dimensity 1000+ doesn’t really an upgrade, but appears to be installed under the hood in order to be a necessity, considering that HUAWEI is closing out its Kirin stocks fast, if not already.

The chip scored approximately 3,000 and 800 points in Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core tests, respectively, compared to Kirin 9000’s scores of 3,600 and 950 for the same test (approx.). Apart from the upgrade of the processor as well, it is also the HUAWEI Mate 40-Dimensity is equipped with a greater resolution rear camera sensor for the primary.

The initial model was an image resolution of 50MP, but the number has been upgraded to 64MP. It’s worth noting that this model will be known as the TD Tech M40 in China. Although the motivation for this change is not clear but it’s likely that it has something to have to do with the US prohibition on HUAWEI.

This means that the back that the device is on will be devoid of its “HUAWEI” branding in favor of “TD Tech.” The cost is the same for both versions. TD Tech M40 starts at 4,999 Yuan for an 8+128GB model and the 8+256GB variant will cost you 5,099 Yuan. This is like the price of that of the HUAWEI Mate 40E and overall (via The WHYLAB).
