Xiaomi VP confirms that Redmi K60 Gaming is not happening. One of Xiaomi’s vice presidents has said that when the Xiaomi 13 is released on Sunday, it will be more powerful than gaming smartphones. When asked about the future of Android gaming, Lu Weibing, better known in the West by his Western name William Lu, predicted that by 2023, we wouldn’t need specialized hardware to play games.
Since the VP also serves as President of Xiaomi China and Redmi’s brand manager, we shouldn’t hold our breath for a Redmi K60 Gaming device; the standard Redmi K60 should be more than capable of meeting consumers’ expectations in this regard. Spy shots have shown that the manufacture of the Redmi K60 series has begun.

The Redmi K60E is known to sport the gaming-focused Dimensity 8200 processor; the Redmi K60 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, and the Redmi K60 Pro is equipped with the newest from Qualcomm, the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Lu has previously revealed that the Xiaomi software development team is testing Dynamic Island so that the Apple-like notification panel may make its way into the Redmi K60 handsets (even if the selfie cameras stay in the corners).
