iPhone 14 Pro will have A16, 14 and 14 Max to use A15 Bionic. Apple is going to break away from its long-standing tradition of providing all its new smartphones with the most recent A-series chips in an upgrade to the iPhone 14 lineup. According to the renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kwuo,
Apple will use the A16 chip only for iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max as well as it will offer the iPhone 14 and 14 Max will have the identical A15 Bionic that was used in the iPhone 13 lineup. The other difference is in the RAM capacity – all four models will come with 6GB of RAM, however the Pro’s will come with the more powerful LPDDR5 and the other two will feature LPDDR 4X.

Apple is preparing to move towards a duopoly of display sizes , with two 6.1-inch models, one with an iPhone 14 and 14 Pro and two 6.7-inch models that come with two 6.7-inch models with the iPhone 14 Max and 14 Pro Max.
This represents a shift away from a compact iPhone and makes the present second-gen iPhone 13 mini the last model of its kind for the moment at the very least. Kuo isn’t able to provide the reason for Apple’s decision to create the A16 chip the only one available and the ongoing shortage of chips may be the reason. Of of course the Apple A15 Bionic is in the same league as all its competitors, and the next batch of iPhones that will use it will not be at a significant disadvantage.
